Julie Soulé Obituary

Soulé, Julie Ann

Julie Ann Soulé (nee Neybert), at the age of 67, passed away surrounded by family in her Palos Hills home on January 13, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. Julie will always be remembered as the most loving & caring wife, daughter, sister, stepmother, mother-in-law, grammie, sister-in-law & aunt a family could hope for; the most thoughtful friend & mentor; and as a woman who was kind to everyone she met. Julie is survived by her beloved husband, Robert of 31 years, his two sons, Ryan (Jen) and Jon (Melinda), and two grandsons, Ronan and Quinn; her mother, Beth Warnick, brothers David (Callie), Phil, and Jim (Mare), sisters Kim (Mike) Rzab and Marcia (Jim) Carter; and many beloved nieces & nephews. She was born in Pensacola, FL and lived in the Chicago area her entire life. She attended Hubbard High School, received her Bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University, and received her Master's from Saint Xavier University. She was a Chicago Public School special education teacher for 35 years and retired from Southside Occupational Academy H.S. as the devoted Culinary Arts Teacher. In 1998, she received the Golden Apple Award in recognition of her outstanding commitment to her students and profession. She retired in 2009, but maintained deep friendships with many of her colleagues. Julie loved her family & friends beyond measure and always offered her unconditional love & support. She cherished all the times spent with them especially those filled with laughter. So many of those fun & memorable times were spent traveling to Cedarburg, WI, New Orleans, LA, and Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The home she shared with her beloved, Bob was her favorite place in all the world and her flower garden was truly a beautiful labor of love which some called "Shangri-La". Julie loved Spring because it meant that she could begin planting her flower garden and summers were spent on their patio enjoying it. Beloved by family and friends, Julie will be forever missed. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 8404 Cass Ave., Darien, IL 60561 on January 26th, 2021, at 10 a.m. In accordance with the current COVID-19 guidelines, all attendees will be required to wear a face mask and observe social distancing while in Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Julie's honor to METAvivor, an organization dedicated to the specific fight of women and men living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
