Julie Abdallah Obituary

Abdallah, Julie Ann

Julie Ann Abdallah passed away on November 28, 2022 at the age of 55 after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer in Encinitas, California.

Julie is survived by her son Sam and his new bride Cam, daughter Katie, her brothers Mike and Chris, her sisters Jennifer, Amy and Carrie, her mother Joan and her father John. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, David.

Julie was born on October 3, 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She graduated with a degree in Human Resources from California State University in Long Beach in 1990 and joined Deloitte & Touche, where she met Dave. Julie and Dave married in 1995 and shortly thereafter relocated to Connecticut. Due to Dave's career, they relocated several more times throughout their years together, spending 5 years in Torrance, CA, 2 years in Bloomfield Hills, MI, 6 years in Ridgefield, CT and 10 years in Lake Forest, IL. She moved to Carlsbad, CA in 2020 to be near her family and the beach.

Julie was an extremely devoted wife and mother, a dedicated philanthropist and a loyal friend. She truly cherished her family above all else. Along with her sisters and mother, Julie started the Hat Box Foundation in 2007 to provide hand knitted hats to cancer patients. She also loved volunteering for The Beacon Place in Waukegan, IL, and Mothers Trust Foundation in Lake Forest. Julie always brought a smile with her to whatever she did and leaves many friends behind from all over the country. The family will be hosting a memorial service at 3:30 on January 6th on Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA. Julie's friends in Lake Forest will also be hosting an additional memorial on January 12th at 4:00 at the Gorton Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Julie's memory can be made to The Beacon Place, 603 S. McAlister Ave. Waukegan, Illinois 60085.

My deepest condolences to the family of Julie Abdallah. I knew Julie through working with Deloitte and worked closely with her late husband, Dave. They were both remarkable souls and I was always amazed by how dedicated Dave was in taking care of Julie when she was going through chemo. Although I am very sad to hear the news of Julie's passing, I am comforted by the fact that she can now be by the side of her forever partner and love, Dave.

Praying for the family's healing (especially Sammy & Katie), as I know how much of an impact she made in their lives. Sending so much love to every family member, and all those who loved her, as we have truly lost an angel. May her light continue to shine beyond this earthly realm.

Deepest condolences,

Tanisha

I am heartbroken by this news. I was a childhood friend of Dave and knew his entire family. Julie was a true angel, put her family first above all. She was a committed partner to Dave. She welcomed her father-in-law into her house and put up with Ray´s shenanigans. I know Julie´s siblings are a close knit family and I´m so sorry for your loss. I met you all at Julie and Dave´s house after Dave´s funeral and I was awed at your love and devotion to Julie.

Katie and Sammy: your parents were kind, generous, and genuine people. I know they were proud of the adults you´ve become. Please know that your grief is not burdened alone. Their lives were lived too short. You are in my thoughts every single day.

Julie was and is my wonderful, precious niece, daughter of my brother John. She was a rock for many and a compassionate woman, mother, wife, friend to many. I truly believe Julie was and is a living Saint and upon her transition from this life to eternal life she was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her beloved sweetheart Dave . The two of them will do great things in Heaven ... like they did in this life, to help all of us in our daily lives and our way to Heaven. I love you Julie and I will dearly miss you. I know you are with David and I know Sam and Katie will grow into the best version of themselves because of you and David and your example. They will use their gifts and talents serving God and all God´s children of all ages .. from birth to the end of life like you and Dave did. Love you bundles and will always remember you and your example of a life well lived and so blessed. Aunt Mary Lu
