He used to play a game with me. I would put my hand under and he would put his hand on top and we kept stacking our hands until we started laughing.

Dear Koreene, Jay and Corey,
When the joys are still remembered
But the sorrow has quietly gone,
There will always be a special place
In the heart---where Dad's love lives on.
May your special memories be a comfort to
you at this time.
In Deepest Sympathy,
Karen Krisberg

Koreene, Arthur, Jodie, Randi and family: It is with heavy hearts that we add our condolences at your loss. In reading the messages in this legacy book, some have said they had a crush on your handsome father...of course they are talking about his appearance in his younger days and it is not surprising. Both of your parents were a striking couple together. I confess my crush on your dad in his later years, because that is when his true spirit emerged in the face of adversity and the challenges he endured to keep his health strong enough to be with all of you for as long as he could add joy to your lives. May his memory be for a blessing now and in the tough days to come. Warmly, Linda and Dale Tartakoff

Jack and I had the good fortune of meeting and knowing Dr. Goodfriend through our good friend, Koreene. Dr. Goodfriend helped me when I needed extensive dental. I am a cowardly person when it comes to doctors, dentists, veterinarians, etc. Dr. Goodfriend was the kindest gentlest doctor/dentist I have ever known. To this day when I tell people that my dentist's name is Dr. Goodfriend, they cannot believe it and I find it very fitting and appropriate that this wonderful man had the name of Dr. Goodfriend because he certainly was a good friend to me. Our condolences to all of his family on his passing. Pat and Jack Rosen

my sincerest condolences on the loss of a wonderful human being. i have known dr, julian for70 years. his dad was my parents dentist in the 1940's. when he started practicing after the war, i was about 5 years old, he was the kindest, gentle, and most caring doctor, and sohandsome, i immediately had a crush on him which lasted until i got married. when i moved to champaign in 1964 he recommended a dentist for my family. now 50 years later in 2013 i moved back to skokie. i called dr. julian for a recommendation. we chatted for a while, of course he remembered me and my family. my name is also goodfriend, and we could never prove we were related, however my brother and sister, looked like him and his sister, tall darkbrown hair and eyes and arita was artistic,as was my sister and i and our other goodfriend relatives. i still remember the paintings hanging in the little waiting room. (people on an escalator) he was a wonderful doctor and human being.i feel blessed to have known him.
may your wonderful memories be a source of comfort.

I am saddened to read Dr. Goodfriend's obituary today. Dr. Julian was my first dentist. My mother and father were Dr. Julian's father's dentist. In my mind's eye I can still see their offices and waiting room on Milwaukee avenue. Dr. must have been in his late 20's when I saw him. As a little girl, I remember having a crush on this dark haired, handsome man. So many memories have come back. I am so sorry for your loss.
Yours,
Toby Marcus Fox

Dr. Goodfriend, or as my children referred to him Dr. Goodguy, was such a gentleman and truly a gentle man.
We enjoyed our visits with him over the many years. Not only was he a good and caring dentist, but we considered him a good friend. Rest in peace doctor.
