Julia Austin Obituary

AUSTIN, JULIA (JUDY), Born to Raymond and Myra Hill in Edcouch, TX, formerly of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away September 1, 2005, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Weber Road Church of Christ, Corpus Christi, where she taught Sunday School for 20 years. She met her loving husband of 60 years, Jimmy Austin, at Abilene Christian College. At college she was a member of Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. Judy was a Spanish Major and had an English Minor. She was a member of Cadet Social Club and a member of Girls Sextet. Dr. and Mrs. Austin were active in the Acappella Chorus at the college. Together, she and Jimmy reared their three children, Miriam, Alan, and Ray to love and obey our loving Lord and Savior. Judy, later in life, was active in Parlinchina's Spanish Club and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a translator in the Foreign Department of National Bank of Commerce in Houston, TX. She was an accomplished pianist and could have been a concert pianist but she chose to rear and nurture her family. Judy fought valiantly throughout her long illness and was a model of perseverance and bravery. Judy is also survived by her grandchildren, Natalie and Amy Jones and Hunter and Hayden Austin, and nephew, Robert Hill of Washington, D.C. Judy had many accomplishments in her life, but none as rewarding as her 60 year marriage to her husband and loving her children and grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. at Mesquite Church of Christ where Judy was a member for 3 1/2 years, 400 West Davis, Mesquite, Texas 75149. Interment will follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park in Mesquite, Texas. Laurel Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park Lake June Rd. @ I-635 Mesquite Texas 75185
