Judith Naughton Obituary

Naughton, Judith L. (nee King), Age 70, former long time resident of Brookfield, IL and more recently of Des Plaines and Skokie. Oldest daughter of the late June (Engel) and Gordon L. King. Beloved mother of Kevin (Kelly) Naughton and Christopher Naughton; Dearest sister of Gordon K. King and Hollis (King) Robbins. Fond aunt of Ashley King, David King and Meredith (Robbins) Borneman; Long time friend of Arlene Braune. A kind thank you to the nurses at Lee Manor of Des Plaines, Cambridge of Skokie and Rainbow Hospice. Judy attended Walther Lutheran H.S. and graduated from Riverside-Brookfield H.S. She graduated from nursing school from Grant Hospital as an R.N. In 1966, while working at MacNeal Hospital to support her two small babies, she was tragically crippled by a drunk driver. The rest of her life was a struggle every day. She still was able to volunteer for the Gross School PTA, The Brookfield Historical Society and The Friends of the Library. A long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Brookfield. Her bookmark collection is amazing. She took comfort in reading and her motto was "Books are your friends." Services were private. Memorial donations may be made to the Brookfield Zoo or to the library of your choice.
