Judith Hodges Obituary
Judith "Jo" Hodges passed away at Evanston Hospital on September 21, 2023 in the 9pm hour.
Judith is lovingly remembered by her sons Donley Hurd (Gilbert, AZ), Robert Hurd (Dallas, TX), Johnny Palmer (Skokie, IL) and Joshua Sawyer (Skokie, IL) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Judith took her greatest joy in reading as many books as she could get her hands on. She enjoyed playing board games, watching movies, loving family and taking care of others. She would tell of times when her hair was long and her legs were great. She was known to hustle a game of pool in those days as well. Her passion to help others found her volunteering in homeless shelters and she even started a soup kitchen and ran it to success at her church.
Judith was born in Hutchinson, Kansas January 13, 1950. Although she wasn't able to finish high school because she went to work to help support her family, she later returned to her education in her 30s. She completed a Bachelor's degree, a Masters and all her coursework for a Doctorate in Psychology.
The memorial to honor her memory will be held at 5017 Greenwood Street, Skokie, IL 60077 Friday, September 30th from 3-6pm. Food will be available Buffet style.
