Joyce LOEFFLER Obituary

LOEFFLER, Joyce W., passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Highland Cottage in Petoskey after a battle with cancer. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River. An Eagles Auxiliary service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service. Joyce was born April 29, 1925 in Ionia, MI. She was the daughter of David and Mary (Lieberack) Passon and the youngest of nine children who have all preceded her in death. Joyce graduated from Gaylord High School in 1942, then moved to Saginaw and went to work with Michigan Bell. She met her husband, Donald Loeffler, and the couple was married on November 19, 1955. Joyce retired from Michigan Bell in Saginaw in 1982 and the couple moved to Indian River in 1987. Joyce was president of F.O.E. Auxiliary #4046 in Indian River for two years. She loved to do all kinds of crafts and loved the out of doors. She will be sadly missed by her husband of fifty four years, her daughter, Patricia (James) Wagner of St. Charles; grandson, Chief Petty Officer Scott (Rain) Wagner stationed in Japan; great granddaughter, Sophia Wagner, also many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions are suggested to Northern Michigan Regional Hospital or Hospice of Little Traverse Bay.

Pat, I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember working with your mom on Fortune Blvd, going shopping with Joyce and her buddies in just 30 mins. and still having time for lunch, such fun we had....Take care, Sue McKnight Strahm

My condolences to Don, and family. I remember her well. We worked together in the cashier's office at the old Sears store. I stood up in Joyce and Don's wedding. That was a long time ago, but I still remember her as a good friend.
