I first met "Jo Jo" when we were both in the third grade. My family bought our first house just 2 doors away from 'Jo Jo" on 49th street and we became instant and life-long friends sharing many, many good times. As kids, we often took long walks on weekends that usually ended with a stop at a local drug store where we shared a root beer float. As teenagers, we went to dance halls together. In summer, we took the trolley to a beach on the Lake Michigan shore, giggling all the way there and back. She was my best friend and so easy to be with and share our time just hanging out together. In 1940, she was the maid of honor at my wedding. And the following year, my husband, Bill and I stood up to her wedding. She was a dear, dear friend that I miss terribly. God Bless you "Jo Jo". Your best friend, Sally Kopec, Reno, NV
