Distenfield, Josephine (nee Weinstein), 91, beloved wife of the late Leo, loving mother of Davida (Richard) Nelson, Elaine (Stuart) Duhl and Ira (Linda) Distenfield, adored grandma Josie of Cheryl (Joseph) Ryan, Laurel (Mark) Kiesow, Gregory (Michelle) Duhl, Joshua (Linda) Duhl, David Distenfield, Jennifer (Andrew) Smith, Derek Distenfield, Dustin (Rachel) Distenfield and Dawn Delgado, great-grandmother of Kara and Zach Ryan, Andrew and Jordan Kiesow, Baily Distenfield, Nathan Delgado and Rebecca Smith, dear sister of the late Florence Rosenberg and Sadye Padden. Graveside funeral services Thursday, 2 p.m., at Oak Woods Cemetery, 1035 East 67th St., Chicago. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Josephine's name to Lieberman Geriatric Health Center, 9700 N. Gross Point Rd., Skokie, IL, 60076, would be appreciated. I just read about Josephine's passing in the JUF news.
You probably won't remember me, but my mother, Mildred Lewis, and Josephine were dear friends, for many, many years. My mother has been gone since 1998. I remember Josephine as a very sweet lady, and a good friend to my mom.
I want to offer my sincere condolences to the whole family. May you be blessed with good health and sweet memories of her.
