Joseph Wegrzyn Obituary
Joseph George Wegrzyn, age 95, passed away Monday morning, April 10, 2023. Born May 1, 1927, in Chicago to the late Joseph and Magdalena Wegrzyn; he was the loving brother of the late Edward, the late Helen, and the late Julia; cherished cousin and best friend of Jozef Kustra; and adored cousin and friend of many. Joseph served his country in World War II as a member of the U.S. Army and for his service, received the American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Joseph was an accomplished opera singer for a brief period in Milano, Italy and made many friends across the world. His faith led him to be an active parishioner of Saint Ladislaus Church in Chicago. He will be missed by friends and family in the United States, Poland, and Germany. Visitation Friday, April 21, 2023, from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago, with Wake Service at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass Saturday, April 22, 2023, 10 a.m. at Saint Ladislaus Church 5345 W. Roscoe St., Chicago.
