Joseph Vigilante Obituary

I was a student in the MSW program at Adelphi from 1967-70. I enrolled in a policy class with Dean Vigilante. He was an excellent teacher and solid human being. Dean Vigilante honored me by inviting me to teach an undergraduate policy class in my final year. I will always have high regard and memories of Dr. Vigilante.

Dear Uncle Joe,

You were an extraordinary man-brilliant, accomplished, kind and complex. You touched all of our lives in a very profound way. I am honored to have been part of your family, and am so happy to have had that great long talk with you in November... I will miss you but will treasure all of the memories and stories from my Mom and Teddy, like the ones we shared at dinner last night. I know you are still with us. Please watch over Teddy, Carrie, Amy, and Aunt Flossie and your grandchildren. My deepest sympathies to my Aunt and cousins. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH THE ENTIRE VIGILANTE FAMILY. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING IN THE SAME BUILDING AS JOE AT ADELPHI UNIVERSITY, HE WAS A KIND MAN WITH A BIG HEART. HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.

Dear Florence and Family;
