Joseph Paradis Obituary

Joseph Frederick "Freddie" Paradis, long time resident of Elkridge, passed peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2022.

Born in Montague, Massachusetts on July 22, 1928, to the late Phillipe Paradis and Marie Ann Castonguay, of Greenfield, Massachusetts. He was educated in Greenfield and graduated from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1957.

A Navy Veteran of the Korean War, he served from 1948 to 1952. After his service, Joseph was employed by FM Global Company where he was a boiler inspector and engineer. In 2013, he retired from the company after 56 years. After his retirement, he loved to travel with his companion Betty McMullen of Elkridge. They would take cruises and other trips together. He was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Elkridge.

Joseph is survived by his three children, Phillip Paradis of Ellicott City; Anne Marie Liberto and her husband Vince, formerly of Catonsville; Elizabeth Paradis of Elkridge; one granddaughter Amanda Paradis; two sisters, Annabelle Lucas of Millers Falls, Massachusetts and Rose Marie Stieha of Carson City, Nevada; a brother Rene Paradis of Melbourne Beach, Florida. He also leaves behind countless family members and close friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Esther Lorraine Paradis, sister Lorraine Clapp of Elkridge, and brother Edmond Paradis of Lenox, Massachusetts.

Family will receive friends at Grace Episcopal Church, 5805 Main Street, Elkridge 21075 on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 2 – 4 & 6 - 8pm; where a funeral service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, beginning at 11am.
