Joe was in my life 77 years. Will he be missed? You betcha! He was the best son, brother, husband, father, and papa to his grandchildren. He will live in my heart and memories until we meet again.

He grew up in South Chicago where he attended Immaculate Conception parish grammar school and then Mount Carmel High School, class of 1961.
Joe played sports including baseball and wrestling. After marrying Nadine in 1964 they moved out to Oak Forest. They were members of St. Gerard Majella parish and then later St. Christopher's. He worked in information technology with companies which included Quaker Oats, Needlecraft Corporation, Montgomery Ward, Edward Hines Lumber and Aventis Behring. At the end of his career he ran his own staffing company. Hobbies included woodworking, fishing, gardening and cooking. He enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in Woodhaven Lakes. He was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Bears. Favorite travel destinations included Door County, Shipshewana, Branson, Florida and the college towns where their children attended school. Joe and Nadine liked to attend their grandchildren's sporting and school events.

A great friend and neighbor for so many years. He never had a harsh word for anyone and his laugh was for everyone. The world is a sadder place for his loss. Our deepest sympathies and best wishes for Nadine and the rest of his family. Rest In Peace, old friend. Darrius Baker
