Joseph Nowak Obituary

Nowak, Father Joseph G. age 84, Pastor Emeritus of St. Michael the Archangel, Chicago, IL. Devoted son of the late Joseph and the late Elizabeth (nee Wolniak) Nowak, loving brother of Sr. Christine Nowak SSJ-TOSF, Thomas (Carol), the late Edward (Angeline) and the late Raymond Nowak, dear brother-in-law of Marge (Leonard) Kochan, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Fr. Nowak was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago on May 2, 1942, and served as an Association pastor at St. Mary Magdalene, Transfiguration, St. Blase of Argo IL, St. Roman, St. Josaphat and installed as Pastor of St. Michael's on March 4, 1968, and served until his retirement on January 26, 1988. Fr. Nowak will lie in state for visitation Friday, 3 to 9 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Michael Church, 83rd & South Shore Drive, Chicago, IL. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Retirement Fund of the Sisters of St. Joseph Third Order of St. Francis, 801 W.
