Dear Eileen and Family,
As I think of my brothers passing, the thought of all of you
run through my mind of the happy times we had at Christmas, picnics and other gatherings. We will love him always.
Our deepest sympathy to all.

Here's a little poem that helped me get through the losses in my life...
hOPE IT HELPS.
TOGETHERNESS
Death is nothing at all - I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me,pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is absolutley unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner All is well. Nothing is past: nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before - only better. Infinitley happier and forever - we will all be one together with Christ.
NOW FOR SOME "JOEYISMS"
*Mike, Butch, er Tim, Dan..Whatever..What's your name?
*Ah, Dont worry about what other people say!!
* If you dont stop cryin, Ill give you somthin to cry about!
Get a Job!!!
* Whaddya say? How ya doin'?
REMEMBER.....
A warm bear hug
Piercing, sea blue eyes w/ a twinkle
that gravelly voice
Being firm but fair
Telling the girls, "You be careful around those boys, now.
Always feeling welcome
NEVER feeling lonely
Christmas eve
Fourth of July in the backyard on Damen
The evening "feast" for Jack and Major with the grissle and grease poured over their food. "Its good for their coat!"
When I was a "Nurseling" working second shift, I spotted Joey and his partner, Demitri riding the "wagon". Joey was riding shotgun and when I pulled along side, I was waving and motioning to "get Joe". But Demitri, seeing the nurses uniform and me waving, misinterpreted the gestures and just kept smiling and waving back at me. Finally Joey leaned over, looked out and later told me he said,"That's my daughter-in law!!" (I guess that must have busted Dimitri's bubble)
Some things are just never the same. We'll miss you Joey!
Love, Ellen

Dear Eileen & Family Read notice of Joe's passing today, and it brought back a lot of memory's of old neighborhood when I was just a kid, and Joe I believe was in police training at the time, I remember him showing me his gun when he was cleaning it. Years later after my Navy tour and marriage and five kids I moved to 5711 S seeley, and low & behold when I was walking down Damon Ave I spotted you after years living in that neighborhood, you where in front of your house you invited me in and we talked awhile. I'm so sorry for your loss and my family conveys there condolence.
