Joe, I think about you often. I miss your friendship.

Two years Joe has left us . Joe is gone but never forgotten . Joe remains in my prayers and we know he is watching over all of us .

It will soon be two years that you left us. I miss you little brother. Rest easy.

Awesome person, mentor, friend and a good example of what a public servant should. Bless you Joe and thank you for showing me the way.

I met Joe as a very young boy on beat 1224, Joe was awesome then and after I became a cop I continued to do my best as he would encourage me to. God bless a truly great human being and cop. Thank you and my other 12th district Angels for taking care of me. Condolences to your family Joe.

Joe was a good husband, father and police officer. I hired Joe to be a hearing officer for administrative adjudication (P tickets) at the Riverside Police Department because he was honest, fair and impartial. Anyone who worked with Joe thought the world of him. RIP brother Joe.

I wanted to say how sorry i am to hear of your passing. I remembered you when i was a kid and you came over to the house for a surprise visit. You walked in the back of the yard and walked up the stairs.I was playing on the porch. You stayed for a while and chatted with my parents. I would of loved to have known you as i grew up. Joe was the best neighbor and friend we could ever imagine. Always kind, thoughtful, helpful. He has great rewards to reap for a life lived so well. I'm saddened to hear of Joe's passing. Please accept my condolences. I met Joe when I was in 151 and he came to 021 as a new lieutenant shortly after I went there as a new sergeant. The world and the Department was a better place with Joe around. I'm honored to have known him and I will miss him.

"Gentleman Joe"...that about says it all. You are and were simply one of the best men I ever had the pleasure to work with. You set a standard among leaders in the CPD that is not likely to be met for years to come. To the family of this terrific man, you have my sincerest condolences. Rest assured that your loss has been felt by a legion of many, many people that Joe touched throughout his many years of service to the CPD. Though he may be gone physically, he will never be forgotten. May God bless Joe and his many friends & family.

I had the honor of working with Joe as an Inspector but more importantly, we became friends. Joe taught me things I will never forget. I do know how very proud he was of you, Daniel; we often discussed our children all attending the U of I in Champaign. He was truly one of a kind and as much as we, his friends will miss him I know you will miss him even more. Hold on to the wonderful memories of this fine man. We are all grateful to have known him.

Joe, what a wonderful kind man, always making us feel welcome and treated us like long lost friends, thank you for all the coffee cakes, and watching out for Brian, Amanda, and Ian. I had the pleasure of first meeting Joe when we made Lt. Our paths crossed many times after that as we visited while he conducted his duties as an Inspector. Joe was a good man. We were Sgts. together in Major Accidents in the early 90's. I remember him always talking about taking Dan to McDonald's on Saturday mornings. He always treasured doing that. We'll keep him in our prayers.

It was so great to reconnect with Joe at our reunion this past October. He was a quiet, gentle person even in his youth. Never a harsh word, but a kind smile for all. My deepest sympathy to his wife and family.

I worked with Joe at CPD when I was in Personnel and he was a Sgt. in the Bureau of Operations. He was such a wonderful man. Always a smile on his face. I was fortunate enough to reconnect with him after many years when he came to work at the Dept. of Aviation after he retired from CPD and he still had that wonderful personality and smile. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. He will be missed.

i worked with joe in 012 dist. a true gentlemen. also new joe when we were kids on lytle st, across from pompei church. god bledd.

Joe was one of the best PO's that ever worked for me and one of the finest Sergeants I ever worked with. I retired about the time Joe made Lieut/Inspector, but I have a feeling he was viewed as one of the best in that capacity too. An example of what the CPD can be. What a pity the good have to leave us so early. Rest in Peace

I'll always remember him as an Inspector , who when he was in 014 , he would respond to in-progress calls, and be side to side with the PO'S, and after that he would stick around and talk, joke with you as a person.I always introduced him to my PPO'S, and when he walked into the station , everyone including myself would be glad to say hello to him.
