Born in Conor, Maine, on May 16, 1940, Mr. Desjardin was a son of the late Peter and Donalda (Morin) Desjardin. He had lived n Ayer for more than 30 years.
In the 1960s, he served in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Dix, N.J.
Mr. Desjardin worked as a meat cutter and produce manager at the former Fort Devens commissary for 12 years before its closing in 1983. He then owned and operated the Pioneer General Repair Service until failing health forced him to retire two years ago.
Besides his wife, survivors include a son, David Gardner of Wallingford, Conn.; two daughters, Stacey L. Hamel of and Cheryl A. Desjardin, both of Ayer; a brother, Conrad Gardner of Florida; five sisters, M.P. Walsh of Shirley, Antoinette Erskine and Gertrude St. Peter, both of Maine, Grace Gulden of Minnesota and Pearl Walters of Missouri; and four grandchildren.
