Joseph Brojakowski Obituary

Joseph S. Brojakowski Sr., 81, of Espy Street, Hanover Section of Nanticoke, passed away Wednesday in the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.

He ended his courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary Stodola Brojakowski. He was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a welder by Phoenix Manufacturing, Nanticoke. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Nanticoke; American Legion Post 350, Nanticoke; and the United Auto Workers.

He was preceded in death by brothers, John, Anthony and Leo; sisters, Clara Brojakowski, Theodosia Jackson, Louise Tycenski and Genevieve Ceppa.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Janice Adams; sons, Joseph Jr. and his wife, Cathy; Michael and his wife, Peggy; Leni Brojakowski; daughters, Linda White and her husband, William; Karen Waichulis and her husband, Sam; Lisa Boltz and her husband, James; brothers, Stanley, Frank and Pete; sisters, Lillian Rosick and May Stolarski; grandchildren, Brian Hoch; Cyndi and Kassy; Michael Jr., Chris, Adam and Becky Brojakowski; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A blessing service will be held Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. from Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. James Nash, pastor of St. Stanislaus Church, officiating.

Friends may call 11 a.m. to time of services.
