Jordan York Obituary

SHELBYVILLE - Jordan O. York, 68, of Shelbyville, formerly of Decatur, died Saturday (Nov. 27, 2004) in Shelby Memorial Hospital, Shelbyville. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials: United Cerebral Palsy. Mr. York was born Dec. 9, 1935, in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., the son of Chester L. and Nellie J. Pedigo York. He was retired from Smith Security, where he worked as a security guard. He was affiliated with the Baptist church, formerly held real estate and insurance licenses and formerly worked for A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. Surviving are his children, Sharon Fox of Decatur; Connie Walsh of Champaign; Steve York of Urbana; Cathy Bush; Shelly Romack of Bement; Sean York; sisters, Lynnie Lambert and Dora Dalluge, both of Decatur; Mary Vance of Mount Zion; Linda Garvin of Decatur; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Doug.
