John Watson Obituary



John Allen Watson John Watson, 71, a resident of Austin for 37 years, peacefully passed away Monday, May 29, 2006. He was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church and an Eagle Scout. He worked for the United States Geological Survey and after many years, he retired from the Texas Water Commission as a hydrologist. He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Dorothy A. Watson; parents, T.B. and Eunice Watson; and aunt, Margaret W. Watson. He is survived by his son, James A. Watson; daughter-in-law, Lupita Watson; grandson, John Antonio Watson; brother, James T. Watson; sister-in-law, Carleen Watson; nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Marcia Watson and family; nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart and Penny Watson and family; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and David Norwood all of Austin; nephew, Brian Norwood of New Braunfels; and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Dale and May Norwood and family of Austin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2006 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Hyde Park Baptist Church, 3901 Speedway. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Creation Evidence Museum, P.O. Box 309, GlenRose, Texas 76043.
