John Untinen Obituary

Untinen, John Leonard age 74, of Ely, formerly of Crystal, passed away July 31, 2009. Preceded in death by son, Tommy; parents, August and Margaret; brother, Richard and former spouse, Marjorie. Survived by sons, Barry (Cheryl), William and Robert; grandchildren, David and Naomi; sister, Joanne Brace; and many friends and family. John was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in 1951 and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He later served as a professional scout executive with the Viking Council for eight years with Boy Scouts of America. John served as 1st Lieutenant in the US Army. His professional career included being an executive with Dayton Hudson Corp., 38 years as a professional tax preparer and 20 years as a licensed real estate agent. He served as president of the Optimist Club, Minneapolis Chapter from 1970-1971. Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association. Interment private, Ely, MN.
