My sincere condolences to all of John's family and relatives.
I can't remember when the last time that I saw John was but we remained friends for life.
I was a child hood buddy, I lived on 92 and union and he lived on 93rd and Wallace. We would attend Mass together at Saint Thadeus church and just generally hng out together on Sundays. It's never easy getting to know your nieghbors when you are kids and move into a new neighborhood and John was one of the first people that I met when I moved into the nighborhood. He was a good kid and I took to him immediately I had alwasys intended to get out to see him and to surpiise him with another child hood friend of ours that I see regulary. I never got around to it and I will always regret it.

I clerked for John some 15 years ago at 165 N. Canal. He was a great person to know. Some of his advice to me extended beyond the workplace, and was needed and appreciated at that time in my life.
He shared humor and kindness with everyone, and I've often thought of him over the years.
It took me a long time to be promoted to technician, but I made it because of people who helped me learn over the years, people like
John.
We remember you, John.
My condolences,

I met John at a time the company did not have Blacks or women working in my department. I thought he was an old man the way he would help me over the phone. Only to find out we were the same age!!! He will always be like a brother to me in my heart. Peace be with the family.

Good's Blessings to the family. John has always treated me like a little sister. Which is the way his friend Lonnie Harris treated me. That is how I met John, before our Illinois Bell days together. Love to you all.

Offering my condolences to the family. John & I worked @ 10 S. Canal during most of the 1990's. I just saw him a few months ago, he said that he felt fine & was working for Lucent in Naperville. We exchanged cards & made plans for lunch. A great, down to earth guy...he'll certainly be missed. God Bless.
