Dear Bruce, deeply sorry about the passing of your father. May God bless you and your mother during this difficult time. Unfortunately I am in New Jersey with my family, and we cannot attend the service. I respect and thank you for coming to the wake when both my parents passed away. Please accept our condolences from me and my family.

My sympathy and condolences in the loss of John extended to the entire Slater family. I am a retired Illinois Central & Amtrak Locomotive Engineer who worked with John and his brother Connie over 40 years ago and my grandfather was also an Engineer who worked with John and Connie's Dad C.P. Slater all the way back to the 1920's on the I.C.R.R. The Slater family men had over 100 years service with the Illinois Central. I now live in California. God Bless You All. Paul E. Jevert
