John Shipper Obituary
December 31, 2022 long time resident of Chicago, Garfield Ridge neighborhood. Beloved son of the late John A. Shipper, Sr. And Lillian nee Hovanec. Devoted Godfather of Amber (Shawn) Knoll. Fond brother of the Late Virginia (late Chester) Figlerowicz. John was the much loved dog dad to his furry companion Tan-Tan.
John was a proud United States Navy Veteran, spending time in Korean War. He was a devout catholic and spent many weekends as an usher at St. Symphorosa Church. He was a fun-loving man! He enjoyed occasional gambling on horses and sports. Gardening and fishing were some of his favorite past times hobbies. John spent time with family, friends and neighbors for whom all will miss him very much.
Services will be held at Central Chapel 6158 S. Central, Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Friday, January 13, 2023, 8:45 am. at Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. at St. Symphorosa Church 62nd and Austin, Chicago. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois

I loved watching all the ladies open the gifts Junior got for them on Christmas eve at grandma and grandpa's house. He got them the most beautiful and thoughtful gifts and he always had a smile on his face when they were opening them :)
