Funeral Friday, September 29, 9 a.m., Chapel Service at Kuratko Funeral Home, 2447 S. DesPlaines Ave., North Riverside. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery. I
just don't know what to say, John and I go back many years on the PD, I remember when he helped me
when we were tearing down a back porch of my houwe in Riverside. I
especially remember as we ALWAYS joked about it when one of his boys was
eating gerken pickles, and it bacame a standing joke every time we met
or talked.
I had the good fortune to speak with John Tuesday, just prior to his
passing. I will remember him always as he always had a good laugh and
just a great guy.
My God Bless John, his family and watch over you all.

My sincere sympathy to John's entire family. I knew him for many years from the time my dad was a trustee and fire/police commissioner for North Riverside--I know John was very proud of his service to the NRPD, I know my dad thought so much of him...
God Bless his family and guide them through this sad time...

MY FAVORITE MEMORY OF JOHN WOULD HAVE TO BE A FEW YEARS BACK AT AN FOP OUTING WHERE HE STOOD UP AND GAVE A STANDING OVATION PRESENTATION OF THE SONG MINNIE THE MOOCH. IT LOOKED LIKE AN AUDITION FOR AMERICAN IDOL AND HE TRULY WAS ENJOYING THE MOMENT AND THE RELAXATION OF BEING OFF DUTY. HAVING SHARED THE SAME OFF DAY CODE JOHN AND I WORKED TOGETHER DAILY AND I LOOKED UP TO HIM NOT ONLY PROFESSIONALY BUT PERSONALY. I WILL MISS YOU BIG GUY! MY SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY.
