My Condolences to The Neblo Family,
All of John's teammates from the 1957 season St. Rita Mustangs football team will miss him at our 50th reunion in April. The 1958 graduating class will salute him on that evening.

Dear Joanne, Laura, John & Michael,

Your husband, your Dad...was the first person I ever met who was bigger than life to me. I can reacall that when I was 10 years old, he and I watched Laura compete at Stagg in a swimming race, the two of us cheering for you madly, Laura, from behind the glass. He was so proud of you--all of you. I feel fortunate to have been touched by his passion for life and to have witnessed this man's fierce love for his family.

Uncle John was a man who was always bigger than life, he will truly be missed by all. He has touched our lives in a way no Davern will ever forget. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Mister Neblo is more than a man to me & my family. "My Brother" My father always said, He meant it. I believe it. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have been able to glean from this very special relationship. Not necessarily because they were close, It was because John in his warmth, humor, strength, & general disposition came to be a true testament (with Joanne). I don't know anyone like John who's presence would bring such comfort. I cannot smell a cigar without thinking of Mr. Neblo. My father would not have been the man he was if not for John. The fact that they are now together brings me great solace. I wish I could be in Hickory Hills today to hear & share the stories & Love.

John's warmth, honesty, genuineness, love, understanding, and compassion are such treasures in all of our hearts. He leaves a rich legacy and a great example to follow. His enjoyment of life and his expressions of that enjoyment endeared all of us to him and always will.
