John McKenna Obituary

DOVER-John V. "Jack" McKenna, 77, of 9 Mechanic St., died Saturday, August 9, 2003 at Langdon Place of Dover.

Born in Long Island City, New York September 25, 1925, he was the son of Edwin V. and Maude L. (Watson) McKenna

Jack served in the United States Marine Corps during WW II. He served in the Hawaiian Islands, Guam , the Mariana Islands and China. Additionally he served a brief period in the Merchant Marines.

He was a disabled veteran and moved here over 10 years ago from Bradley Beach, NJ.

Family members include two sisters, Lillian M. Mitchell of Eliot, ME and Eva B. Baker of Midwest City, OK; several nieces and nephews including his caregiver, Joyce C. Oelschlager of Eliot, ME and several grand nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Henry A. McKenna and a sister, Maybelle “Sunshine” Woodward.

There will be no calling hours or services.

Burial will be in the veterans section at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Those desiring may make memorial donations to Bellamy Chapter #5, Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 313, Dover, NH 03820.

Arrangements are handled by McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St. South Berwick, ME.
