I met John at Berkshire in 1985, he was very fun & bright and always treated me very well. Though I returned to the West Coast, and have not seen John for so long, he was thought of every time my mind revisited Berkshire. You are missed and my prayers are with your loved ones.

To Max & Eden, I'm truly sorry for your loss. JP was a friend of mine at Franklin & Marshall College, and we were brothers at the Chi Phi Fraternity. One of the characteristics I loved about JP was his patriotism. He was about as true blue American as you can get. That's why I will never forget the day we had a conversation about citizenship and he called me an American. It changed my life. I took the citizenship test after graduation and will always be grateful to JP for his acceptance. Peace be with you. "DJ"

Extending my heartfelt condolences to the Maheras family. Psalms 55:22 is a very encouraging scripture. Please at your earliest convenience read this and see how it instructs you to throw your burden upon the creator

J.P.'s legacy as a doting family man, loyal friend, quiet leader, and faithful patriot are as indisputable as they are a tribute to his character. My favorite memories are of him leading his freshman compatriots through pledging and of hanging out with just he and Boomer for a few days one spring break...In the first instance, I learned a lot about him; in the second, he taught me a lot about myself. Thank you for that, John Peter. God bless you, and may He look well after Eden and Maximos in your sted.

JP, you were an amazing athlete, great guy and a good friend. I quickly knew I could always count on you and everytime we were together you gave me your all! I am very proud and honored to have met you. I will make sure to keep an eye on your beautiful family and to help keep them safe. JP, be good and keep your head up like you always have my friend.
Sincerely,

I knew John when we were children, his mom and my mom are still close - I was so devastated to learn of his sudden, shocking passing. My prayers to his wife, son, in-laws, Gail, and all his friends - I'm shocked and saddened and bewildered. May he rest in peace.

A very good man who left us much too soon.
God full of mercy who dwells on high
Grant perfect rest on the wings of Your Divine Presence
In the lofty heights of the holy and pure
who shine as the brightness of the heavens
to the soul of John Maheras.
