John Loftus Obituary

Loftus II, John P. "Jack" age 66, of Plainfield, IL, formerly of Chicago, died Monday, October 18, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer, he was born on December 20, 1937, in Chicago. Loving husband of the late Margaret Mary (nee Brankin) Loftus; beloved father of Karen (Ed) Zydek and John P. (Lisa, nee Foys) Loftus, III; adored grandfather of Mike Lennhardt, Tom, Jack and Ryan Zydek, Joey Fekech and John Loftus IV, devoted son of the late Catherine and John Loftus I, dear brother of Ted (Carmi) Loftus, Kaye (Ron) Sarhage, Maureen (John) Danehy and the late Martin Loftus and the late Della McNamara, fond uncle of many. Jack served in the U.S. Army 1956 to 1958. He was employed for many years by Montgomery Wards, North Riverside, IL. He enjoyed fishing. Visitation Wednesday, 3 to 9 pm., at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 309 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL. Services will begin Thursday, at 12 noon from the funeral home and proceed to a 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 129 S. Division St., Plainfield. Interment Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. For info: 815-436-9221
