February 14, 2025

it's been 20 + years since you have gone on your journey. I pray that you laid the path for us to follow as you did here on earth. Looking forward to the day when we meet again, along with the rest of the Hurt family.

I was saddened to learn of the recent death of John Hurt. Of all the people I met during six years "On The Hill" there was none that I held in higher regard. He treated this poor little Roderfield kid with kindness and respect and I will always have fond memories of the time we spent together. My love and sympathy to Rosie. She and Johnny showed us that young love can last a lifetime. What a special couple!

Mrs. Hurt:

I am Fred Ostertag, the European Director of Central Texas College, and Cathy is my Business Manager. Listening to Cathy talk so fondly and lovingly about her father, reading the many kind and thoughtful words about your husband in the Guest Book, and seeing what a decent and caring person Cathy has developed into, it is easy to determine that you were a wonderful couple, loving parents to your children, and true friends to so many othes.

There is no doubt your husband is with God, and understanding that made acceptance of my own's mother death bearable. At her time of death, I thought her legs which failed to carry her were no longer needed as she was lifted towards Heaven by a band of angels, her arms which were falling limp found new strength as they embraced the Blessed Mother, and her eyes which had started to fail opened wide as she clearly saw the face of God as He embraced her and welcomed her into Heaven.

Like her, I am sure your husband is in Heaven with God. We miss our loved ones, and this makes us very sad. However, we also have to be very happy for them. Put your trust in God and ask Him to help you get through these sorrowful times. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Cathy, and your other children.
