John Flickinger Obituary

FLICKINGER Dr. John William Flickinger, 65, of Columbus, passed away September 8, 2006. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Kail and his father Harry Flickinger. John is survived by his loving wife, Judith; stepson, Brad Williams; cousins, Mona Brockman, William "Bill" Baker and Bill's children, Marsha Eaton, Marie Waring and Sam Baker. John was a professor at several Universities including Michigan State University, Bowling Green State University and Washburn University in Topeka, KS. John was very active in Criminal Justice and was involved in many Administrative services including Executive Secretary for the Ohio Council of Criminal Justice Educators, Commander, Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Academy and Secretary, Crime Prevention Security Section Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, just to name a few. During my two appointments as the U.S. Marshal I had several occasions to consult with John on operational and educational issues. Many people in the law enforcement operations and training arena will miss John. I always enjoyed his visits at the Marshal's Office. I first learned about Tiffin U. through John.
