John Feipel Obituary

Feipel, John

John Feipel, 65, died on March 5, 2021 after a six-year battle with cancer. Born to Eileen (Murphy) and Benjamin Feipel on July 27, 1955 in Little Company of Mary Hospital, John was a native of Canaryville and a proud member of the broader Southwest Side community. A devout Catholic baptized and formed in the faith at St. Gabriel Church, he served the City of Chicago for 33 years as a skilled laborer for the Chicago Water Department. "Bird," as he was known, was an avid bicyclist joining friends on rides along Lake Shore Drive and into Indiana and Michigan. John was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who took great pleasure in the network of family and friends that gave life its richest meaning. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jean (Kitchen) Feipel; his daughter Angela (Josh) Pagliaro and grandsons, Trevor and Liam Pagliaro; sisters, Barbara Lockwood (Scott Appleby) and Cathy Allen (Gary). John was uncle of many nieces, nephews, and great-nephews and leaves behind a legion of friends from the "hood". John will live in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Gabriel Bell Tower Fund, 4522 S Wallace Street, Chicago, IL 60609.
