Dempsey, John F. "Jack" Age 77, beloved husband of Mary Lou (nee Farrell), loving father of Jean (Tim) Allen, Patricia (Jim) Smith, Catherine, John F. Jr. (Caren), Michael (Diane), Mary "Puddy", Joan (William) Rogers and Anne Dempsey, proud grandfather of Jim (Sandy), Tom (fiancee Antonella), Jack, Lauren, Colleen (Ryan), Michael, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Melissa, Jessica, Jenna, Jake, Catherine, John, Matthew and Adriane, dear great-grandfather of Riley Jean, devoted son of the late John C. and Catherine Murtaugh Dempsey, cherished brother of the late Virginia (Joseph) Connell, Patricia (Eugene) Halleran, the late James T. (Mary Kaye) and Rosemary (Michael) Kobar, best friend and cousin of Donald (the late Rita) Fulton, fond brother-in-law of Patricia Dempsey, Sue (the late Jerry) Doherty and the late Frank (the late Patricia) Farrell, dear nephew of Lucille (the late John) Boyce. Uncle Jack was also loved by his many nieces and nephews. Lifelong resident of the southwest side of Chicago and 35 year summer resident of Magician Lake Woods at Dowagiac, MI. Retired member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #73 with over 50 years of service. Visitation Sunday 2 to 9pm. Funeral Monday 9:15am from the Brady-Gill Funeral Home (Heeney-Laughlin Directors) 2929 W. 87th St. Evergreen Park to St. John Fisher Church. Mass 1Oam. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Grandpa Griz, how did he get that name? I heard stories of his Grizzley days but to me he was a big teddy bear! He was a wonderful man who loved his family more than anything. He will be missed and will forever be in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. I hope he is behaving up there! Love you Gramps!
