Dear Connie,
I am so sorry for your loss. Johnny was a remarkable man, such good company and a great host. Eileen and I enjoyed that wonderful dinner at the Beverly Country Club with you, Johnny and Anna Mae. It was one of those special moments that stays in my memory.
My Prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Burns, John, Kevin, and Colleen,
I am flying today and cannot deliver this message in person. I am so sorry for your loss. John Burns was a great man, always good to everyone who knew him. One of my lasting memories is of him taking the collection at Sunday mass, looking, as always, like a million dollars. I will miss his charm, humor, and humanity.

Dear Connie and Family, Ronnie and I were so sad to hear the news of John’s death. Our hearts go out to you during this time of sadness and loss. We are sorry we will not be able to be at wake or the funeral as I am going out to San Francisco. Please know that we cherish the time we spent at your 60th wedding seeing you both so elegant and happy. We hope all the happy times you have encountered will bring you solace and consolation in the years ahead. I have enclosed two poems that have helped other in grief. Hope they will be of some consolation to you all. May God bless and comfort you in the months and years ahead.
Love and Prayers
Ronnie and Margaret Moser.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the up lifting rush of quiet
Birds in circles flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there I did not die.
God's Garden
God looked around his garden
And he found an empty place.
Then he looked down upon this earth
And saw John’s tired face.
He put his arms around him
And lifted him to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
Surely he only takes the best.
He knew that John was suffering
He knew that he was in pain
He knew that John would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed Johns weary eyelids
And whispered "peace be thine".
It broke our hearts to loose him
But he didn't go alone
For part of us went with him
The day God called our
Beloved John home.
