John Beem was my Italian Hall friend. We spoke often about details, i.e., which way the hinges went. I looked forward to our stimulating conversations.
When the play, Mother Lode, was performed in Calumet, he stayed with us, One of the scenes took place in the Calumet Theatre, and he really connected with the story and being right there in his scene.
I wish to contact his family to see if they would be willing to share his notes about the Italian Hall Disaster which took place in Calumet, Michigan, and provide me with details and permission to write a biographical sketch of John
from how he found the depositions to writing the play.
I miss him still.

To John's family and friends....he was an amazing human being....gifted in so many different areas, as an artist, director, writer, designer, filmmaker...I'm so sorry to hear about his way too early passing and am grateful to know that he is pain free and resting joyfully in the arms of God. Blessings to all. He will be sorely missed.

I'm sincerely sorry for your loss. John was my mom's roommate in Chicago for a few years. He was such a kind and friendly man. He was also a very talented artist and I'm so thankful for everything he did to help my mom and me. May he rest in peace.
