Coach Arreazola was my Spanish teacher. A very good one at that.
I believe he was the best football mind HPHS had at the time, but they didn't hire him as head Varsity Football Coach as they should have. His record spoke for itself. He knew the game. I wish I could have played on his team.

Dr. Arreazola gave us the foundation and inspiration for bringing out our musical talents in our band we formed with his son Joel, and his connections with the H.P. Police Dept., once helped us out of a very serious but funny situation, that we will always remember. God Bless

Our deepest sympathies to John's family and loved ones. We knew him through HPHS, and particularly for all his support and love for HPHS baseball and community athletics in general.

I am so sorry to read of your father's death. He was a wonderful colleague and friend. His smile generated warmth whenever I ran into him in town. He was always so proud of his family and never failed to keep me posted on their accomplishments. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

My deepest condolences on your loss. Dr. Arreazola was my Spanish teacher back in 1978-79, and although I was not one of his best students, I remember him as one of the few genuine, likeable teachers in my past. He had a rich and robust personality and a commanding presence that people gravitated to, and years after I graduated it was always a pleasure to run into him. I'm sure his positive influence has travelled all over the world in the fond memories we carry with us. I know that the world is a sadder place for having lost him...

I have wonderful memories of Coach Arreazola. We went undefeated in 1970 - my sophmore year. He was a great coach, a great teacher, and a great guy. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Coach Arreazola will always have a place in my heart. Of all my coaches throughout my life, he had the finest on-field game perception of any of them. Whenever he called a play from the sidelines, 9 times out of 10, it was a touchdown. And he always made us feel as though we were part of his family, from having us over for dinner, to taking us each aside and truly wanting to know how we were doing at home and in school. He was a great coach and a compassionate man.
