John Anzelmo Obituary
John Anzelmo, former resident of Chicago Heights, passed away peacefully in September, 2025. He is survived by son John (Clara), daughter Cindy and grandkids Sara and Joshua. He is predeceased by wife Mary L. and daughter Mary C.
John was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was married for 65 years. He worked for District # 170 and taught at Washington Jr High before becoming Principal at Gavin Elementary and then Grant Elementary schools. He loved teaching and being recognized by former students. He liked to say he was survived by the 9,000 students he taught!
In his spare time, he was President of Chicago Heights Credit Union and the Teacher's Union. He was the rock of the family, and we will miss him dearly. He will always be in our hearts. Rest easy Dad!
