Going thru old pictures today (Memorial Day, how appropriate) and it reminded me of the good old days at our house on Fairfield. Such good times with the Alongi family, I'm sure Johnny and my brother Michael have reconnected and are smiling down on us, but I miss them terribly.

My Dear Friend, Angelo, I am so sad to hear about Johnny, what a wonderful person he was. I'll always remember him as a handsome, kind, and gentle soul. He always lite up the room with his charming personality. He will never be forgotten. He was just that type of a guy.
With love I say goodbye to a friend. Erna

Alongi Family,
I remember John as a Lakeview Sweeper! My dad David Josetti was one of John's best friends back in those days, along with Leo and Uncle Lester. I would like to express my deepest sympathy on behalf of my entire family. He was a GREAT GUY!

To the Alongi Family,
We feel very deeply for your loss. John was a wonderful friend who will be missed by many. We have great memories of him coming to the house "to watch" Sunday football. He had a great impact on VJ and all our lives and he will be greatly missed. We are fortunate to have known him since we moved to Chicago 20 years ago. We know good memories will comfort you during this most difficult time.

Dear Angelo
I just found out that John passed and I am really sorry that I was
not at the Wake. I went to school with John ( St Mikes ) and he was
a hella of a guy. He fought the good fight and I gotta think that his
Warrior makeup helped him in his fight. He will be missed and I
hope you find comfort in all that you did for him in this fight. You
are truly a great Brother.

Dear Alongi Family,
It is hard to say all that I feel at this moment, but John was a good friend and one hell of a linebacker for the SWEEPERS. We grew up by Burley and had many good times. John is no longer suffering and he is at peace with God. I wish I could be there but I am out of town, but my memories of him will remain. I wish the family well in such trying times.

Dearest Alongi Family,
I was heartbroken to learn of John's passing and wanted to pass along my deepest sympathies. So many fond memories of Johnny Boy come flooding back to me - our years together at St. Al's, St. Greg's, the front porch stoop on Barry with his aunts, uncles and cousins, and later when we shared an "L" ride on our way to work downtown and an occasional lunch together. I will always remember Johnny fondly and I pray that God's mercy will grace your hearts to lessen the terrible ache that bears down on you now. May you be comforted knowing Johnny was loved by so many. He will be sorely missed.
