Joanne Slowikowski Obituary

Slowikowski, Joanne M. 66, of Valparaiso, Indiana, formerly of Chicago, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at home. She was born November 30, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Domenic and Helen (Petrucci) Nesci. On May 27, 1961 in Chicago, she married Melvyn Slowikowski who survives. Also surviving her are her children James (Rosemarie) Slowikowski of Chicago, Kathleen (Jeffery) Graden of Glendale, Arizona, Jill (Brian) Michaels of Valparaiso, five grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews. Her brother Donald (Nancy) Nesci of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois and sister Arlene (Rick) Turner of Las Vegas, Nevada also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Dolores Studer and Francine Kaufman and her aunt Mary Petrucci. Joanne was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Valparaiso. She taught CCD at St. Mary Church in Riverdale, Illinois for 11 years and was a member of the Baseball Auxiliary in Dolton. Joanne was also an office manager at Jays Potato Chips in South Holland, Illinois and Target in Calumet City, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 24th and Tuesday, March 25th at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26th at St. Elizabeth Seton Church.
