My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Tauchman's family. There is so much that I would love to say about Mrs. Tauchman, and yet find myself unable to put to words the effect she had on my life. She was my teacher for 88 minutes a day for two years at Prairie and instilled in me so many values and lessons that I cannot begin to name them all. I never had another teacher like her, one that so made me want to be a better student. She will be greatly missed by her former students, whose quality of life was increased just by knowing her.
Love,
Cindy

To the Tauchman Family:
All of you have my deepest sympathy at this sad time. Joan was the true matriarch of the Tauchman clan and her love for all of you knew no bounds.
She also was the matriarch of her Prairie Junior High family and loved all of us and lead us to do wonderful things for all the children we taught.
There will never be a time that I walk through the front door of Prairie and not think about Joan. She was the heart of our school and her spirit will always be a part of all of us. I loved her and I am so blessed that she was my friend. The 29 years we were friends was too short and thank God for all the treasured memories I have.
My prayers and good intentions will be for Charlie and all of Joan's children and grandchildren.
Love,
Maribeth Callahan

My deepest sympathy to The Tauchman Family. Joan was a fellow teacher of mine in Alsip, Dist.126. She was a delight to be around. Her straightforwardness was refreshing and her courage throughout her health problems was inspirational. She was a superb teacher, Union President and friend. I will remember all the laughs I had with her and her very caring ways. Joan, May God hold you in the palm of His hand until we meet again. Fondly, Mary Lu Sweeney

My sympathy goes out to Joan's family. I have known Joan many years thru her friendship with my
cousin, Kate Walsh. I always enjoyed times spent with Joan and we
will all miss her.
