Joan Schmidt Obituary

Schmidt, Joan Kathryn born May 4, 1931, in Chicago, IL, passed away July 26, 2004, preceded in death by her parents, Otto P. Schmidt and Violet Yaeger Schmidt, Sister Mary Anne Pietraszek and brother, Otto Joseph Schmidt of Chicago. Joan transferred to Nashville in 1974 as Supervisor of Computer Controls for Marquette Cement Co. of Chicago and has worked since 1986 in the Office Administration group of American Battery. Joan treasured her family and her second family at work. She will dearly missed by surviving Brother and family, Richard and Virginia Schmidt of Brentwood, TN, nephews, Philip Schmidt of Nashville, Joseph Schmidt of Franklin, nieces, Suzanne Beesley of Eagan, MN and Julie Vosburgh of Madison, WI, nephew, Walter Schmidt of Hanover Park, IL, nieces, Kay Ann Chase of Bloomington, IL, Cindy Wilson of Twin Lakes, MI, sister-in-law, Florence Schmidt of Twin Lakes and 12 great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 11 a.m., at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 202 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., at Bohemian National Cemetery.
