Jimmy Newell Obituary

IRWINVILLE — Jimmy “Noodle” Newell, 54, of Irwinville died Saturday Dec. 20, 2008 at his home. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Arbor Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Johnson, Elder Charles Tyson and the Rev. Ray Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Irwinville Cemetery. Mr. Newell was born Aug. 26, 1954 to the late Murray Preston and Wynell Pitts Newell. He attended Tift County High School and worked for 23 years as a supervisor for Irwinville Peanut and Grain. Mr. Newell also worked for Gold Kist in Tifton and was a former firefighter and first responder in Irwinville. He is survived by his wife, Rita McGee Newell of Irwinville; daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Shane Handley of Irwinville; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Amanda Newell of Irwinville; grandchildren, Jordan and Halleigh Gilbert, Allie, Gavin, and Marley Newell, all of Irwinville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Toni Newell and Bobby and Janice Newell, all of Tifton; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Russell Garren and Wanda and Mark Draughon, all of Tifton.The family suggests that those desiring to send memorials may send them to the Blue-Gray Community Hospice, P.O.
