Jill Bohannan Obituary

Bohannan, Jill Marie Jill Bohannan's struggle with cancer ended on the morning of April 25, 2013, at the age of 60. She was comforted in her final moments by her loving husband, John D'Asto. She is survived by her sisters, Lynn Insolia of LaCruces, NM and Mary Strand of Janesville, WI. Jill grew up in Mt. Prospect, IL, where she graduated from Prospect High School. She received her BFA degree from Northern Illinois University in 1976. Her extensive creative talents afforded wonderful opportunities to work with leading advertising agencies including Young & Rubicam (Chi), Goodby Silverstein & Partners (SF), Hill Holiday (Boston), Armirati Puris (NY), Wells, Rich, Green (Chi), finishing her career where she started 27 years earlier at Leo Burnett in Chicago. She served as creative director in a number of these firms, leading the way for a greater role for women executives in this industry. Her many awards in advertising acknowledged a very distinguished and successful career. Jill was a fine artist in her own right and enjoyed expressing her creative abilities through painting and ceramics. She will be terribly missed by her husband, her sisters, nieces and nephews and the many close friends she made in her life. It was Jill's wish that there would be no funeral ceremony but, rather, a celebration of her life. This event will be held in September.

john I am so saddened to know that wit and smile are gone. We were pen pals in elementary school. My parents, KC & Charlie Guptil, were close with Rosemary & Don. My mom was so thrilled that you 2 came to her 80th Bday at our home in mpls. So many good people gone far too soon. Heart felt sympathies to you! XO Pam

John, I am so sorry for your loss. Jill was a grade school and high school dear friend of mine. We lived on the same block growing up. I hope she didn't suffer too badly. She was an amazing person but I don't have to tell you that. She will be missed by all who knew her. Bless you, Patti Moore Ratliff

Something will be missing now. The something about her that made you smile and feel better she was in the room. She had talent and taste but her fineness outshone even those. A fabulous lady.
