Jessie Botten Obituary

Jessie Thelma Botten

Jessie Thelma Botten, a resident of Warm Beach Sr. Community in Stanwood, was taken to be with her Lord and Savior on September 22, 2003. She was 98.
Thelma Botten was born April 18, 1905 in Arlington, Washington to Nels and Jessie Peterson, She graduated from Arlington High School and attended Peterson Business School in Seattle.
On April 18, 1928 she married Einar N. Botten of Silvana, Washington. The family moved to Seattle in 1941 where Einar became Assistant Manager for Prudential Insurance and later General Manager for the Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance Co. Thelma was a tremendous help and supporter in his career endeavors.
Upon retirement, they returned to the Silvana area. There they built a home on the Botten homestead property, which they named "Fjelbu."
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband; and her brother, Jack C. Peterson.
She is survived by son, Nelvin and his wife, Jeanne; daughter Joyce Strand and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Jeff Botten (Toni), Tamara Botten Riggs (Craig), Eric Strand, Stephen Strand (Jeanette), Robin Strand Heilbrunn. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her Memorial Service will be held at Warm Beach Sr. Community Chapel on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church, Warm Beach Sr. Community or an organization of donor's choice.
Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.
