Miller Jr., Jesse L. We sadly announce the passing of former 24th Ward Alderman Jesse L. Miller Jr. Beloved husband of Darleen Gail Moore-Miller; and brother of Lee and Mack. Jesse died on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, after complications from a heart ailment. He was 72. As Alderman of the 24th Ward from 1991-1995, Jesse helped to bring about economic revitalization to the community. Jesse established a strong record as a leader in the North Lawndale community. In 1966, he joined the SCLC and was a protégé of Dr. King. He adopted his ideology of working in the community to affect positive changes and helped to establish the LPPAC.
