Jerry Zwiefelhofer Obituary

Zwiefelhofer, Jerry Roger (Gammeter), age 60, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2005, at the Veterans Hospital in Chicago after a four year battle with cancer. He was born March 3, 1944, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Bernard and Eleanor (Moen) Zwiefelhofer. He served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Edmunds during the Vietnam War. He worked in the construction business in Wisconsin and in Illinois for many years and most recently worked at Cary's Lounge in Chicago. He liked traveling up north by Bloomer for hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed shooting pool. He was a Cub's fan and a Bear's and Packer's fan. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Kristi Lynn Zwiefelhofer, of Tampa, Florida; his mother and step-father, Eleanor and Donald Gammeter, of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin; five sisters, Shirley Venden of Mount Horeb, Melanie (Donald) Leffler of Dodgeville, Lisa (Robert) Sprecher of Baraboo, Tonya (Douglas) Schade of Janesville, and Mary Ann (Ronald) Magyorosi of Cudahy; five brothers, Dennis Gammeter of Pardeeville, Keith (Anna) Gammeter of Darlington, Kevin (Barbara) Gammeter of Wisconsin Dells, Eric (Jean) Gammeter of Wyocena, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Gammeter of Wisconsin Dells; several nieces; nephews; and friends, especially Pete and Terry. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Michael Zwiefelhofer, who died in infancy; his father, Bernard Albert Zwiefelhofer; his paternal grandparents, Albert and Mary (Traxler) Zwiefelhofer; and his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Helga (Andreassen) Moen. Funeral Services will be held at the Ellestad Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th Street, Mount Horeb, Wisconsin on Monday, February 28th, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Mount Horeb Union Cemetery.
