Time Doesn't make things easier and it's hard to understand why we have to live, learn to love and then pass on ...May your hearts be full being thankful for the time you had with him and if he was anything like Jerry Jr. Him just walking or being in the room changed the energy and made things always better !!!! With love and sweet condolences...

Donna,
Today I thought back, waayyy back to 1984 or 1985. I had inadvertently gotten mixed up in a gang. He tried to help me several times. Even though I didn´t accept the help he offered, the fact that he offered did help. The fact that he cared gave me hope. I physically got out of/away from that gang two or three years later. On the occasions when my mind or stories have revisited that part of my life, he and his name are shared as a bright light of hope that helped me overcome it.
Today, I remembered him. I looked him up. was saddened to see he was gone and so young. I am smiling now, to know, that he had a long career and a family of love.

Jerry;

To know you was to love you with your smart and sassy way, you made a lot of people wish they never met you and that was o.k.
Your smile said so much about you, your glasses said Mr. MaGoo and when you spoke your love for life shined through.
You protected more than just your family and the streets that you patroled.
You were the protector of lives that began to unfold.
So now my Brother it's time for you to rest, before God puts you back to work protecting His Heavenly Best!
Love Always

To Michael and his family. I remember when little that Jerry went all around Leyden Township in our area keeping our area safe when he was a police officer. Then I had the grand opportunity to volunteer when my daughter was in kindergarten for the reading program. I was helping children in group read. I then found out that in one of the groups that I had was Jerry Outlaws son. It wasn't a special class for reading. Yes! Mike you will make your Dad proud. He is a Guardian Angel looking over all of you now. I firmly believe that. Theresa and I are sorry for your loss.

Dear Donna and Family,
It is with complete shock that I have learned of this terrible turn of events. I had worked with Jerry for 20 years in the courtrooms of the 3rd District.
