Jerry Anthony Obituary

Anthony, M. Jerry Age 94 years; beloved husband of Lockie Anthony, passed away after a struggle with complications following a stroke. Born September 27, 1920 to parents Professor Jerry M. Anthony Sr. and Stella Cole. He professed Christ at an early age at Brown Creek Missionary Church in Brownsville, TN under the leadership of the late Rev. Williams. He received his early education in Hay Wood County, later attended Merry High School in North Jackson, TN. Later attended Lane College. He entered the Armed Services in 1941 where he was in the Medical Corps and obtained the rank of Staff Sgt. He served in Asiatic Pacific, earning two Bronze Stars, Phillipine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and American Ribbon, American Defense Service Medal. Retired from AT&T with 28 years of service. Joined Trinity United Church until his death. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Lockie Gibson. To this union no children were born. He leaves to remember him in love, his wife of 44 years; one niece, Ramelle Walker; one nephew, Max Walker; cousins, Audrey Driver, Sharon Diamond, Bernard Reynolds, Alline Lloyd, Barbara Lloyd and Michael Lloyd, Marc Lloyd, Andria Diamond and Chris Diamond; daughter, Linda Gibson and granddaughter, Nicole Gibson.
