The Hirschmann family was (sadly) very briefly in my life. I became friends with Louis when both were in our twenties.
Dr. and Mrs. Hirschmann were always so kind and welcoming. I have never forgotten the times I shared with their family in their home.
Louis, and family, I'm very sorry for your loss. But please take pride in knowing how many people's lives your father touched.
Sincerely, Deborah Jacobson

I knew Jerome Hirschmann and his wife Doris back in the '60s. My name is William Hemesath. I was employed by the Hirschmann's to design and construct the landscaping at their home on Wentworth in Glencoe. I was young. Maybe 27. It was my first comprehensive residential design. They were kind enough to award me the work. I remember the Hirschmann's as being a patron of the 'Arts'. They had recently purchased a bronze nude from Europe(Italy?) which I incorporated into the landscape design adjacent to the swimming pool at the junction between the lower & upper pool decks, which were constructed in Bluestone Pavers. An unusal feature of that design was a 40' Waterfall which separated the loser & upper deck designs.. We also included handcrafted hexagonal exposed aggregate drive stones, which we made, by hand, 200 at a time. We included lighting , seat walls, plantings, irrigation, grass, etc... It was a joyous time for me, being young, and an absolute pleasure to being involved with such an exciting couple. I've always had good memories of the two of you. I am so sorry for your lossl, Diane. God Bless.
