Jerome Fritsch Obituary

Fritsch, Jerome Michael Beloved son, brother, cousin, and uncle, passed away on March 10, 2013. He was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, on September 18, 1964, to Ann Rita (Nancy) and Robert William Fritsch. Jerome played many different sports, including baseball, ice skating, hockey and tennis, and was a lifelong sports fan. The Beatles were his favorite group, and he was inspired by the words of universal love and peace that George Harrison wrote in "My Sweet Lord" and "Give Me Love". Jerry is loved by many friends who admired his joy in living, his perseverance in the face of great suffering, and his love of family and friends. Jerome is survived by his mother, Nancy; sisters, Marianne Lauer, Jane Fritsch, and Pat Fritsch, and by his brother, Robert Fritsch, Jr.; his nephews, Kevin Lauer, Brian Lauer, and William Fritsch; his nieces, Rachel Garcia, Gretchen Garcia, Annabel Fritsch, and Molly Fritsch; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 5pm to 8pm, at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251. A funeral mass will be held Monday, March 18, 2013, at 2pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 7655 E Main St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251. Nancy Fritsch asks that, if you prefer, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jerome's name to the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Office of Development, PO Box 508, Wheaton, IL 60187-0508.

Dear Family of Jerry,

I was shocked to see Jerry's notice yesterday. I recognized him right away. I taught English at MARIST HIGH SCHOOL and was fortunate enough to have Jerry in my class. I knew he had some health issues yet they never seemed to bother him. He was always so serious about his work yet very social with all those around him. His picture is a classic: Smiling and looking up and forward to whatever life presented. I can certainly see him accepting all the challenges of life but doing it with the graciousness of a wonderful man. Today I will be attending the funeral Mass of Father Patrick Henry, pastor of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Oak Lawn. I will always remember Jerry and particularly when I am at St. Catherine's. May God give him the peace he so richly deserves.

Dear Mrs. Crutch and family,

I am saddened to her of Jerry's passing. He wascalways such a happy soul ready to talk about some topic enthusiastically (usually sports!). I never fully appreciated as a child all that he dealt with, but as an adult I thought of him with admiration for his strong and positive spirit. I miss the days back on Fairfax when we were all there for each other. Wishing all of you peace.
